Branding for the Environment

My passions extend to the conservation of the nature surrounding us. I decided to turn my passion into a personal project. I created a scenario where EverValley, an ecotourism resort based in Utah, asked me to design branding.

Goal:

Develop a brand using a website, social media, print materials, and gift shop merchandise.

Tools:

Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Professional Mountain:

For the logo, I wanted to keep a mountain and a leaf to symbolize ecotourism. I decided to merge the two elements to make it look like a flowing vine at the end of a mountain. However, I did have a longer mountain using the vector, so that was used to create the pattern in this business card.

For the Guests:

To capture potential customers, I presented the amenities the resort offers as well as example rooms with prices.

Captured the Interest:

The website was created in relation to the brochure but more in-depth. Opportunities page was added since the resort has an emphasis on volunteering and internship.

Promoting the Valley:

Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram best target the audience and showcase the top features.

Stocking the Gift Shop:

Below are examples of some of the various merchandise released by the gift shop. The styles were chosen based on best selling merchandise commonly seen in businesses. The same pattern was used from the business card for consistency.

Conclusion:

This is a meaningful project to me because I love conservation and traveling. I love the idea of the project becoming a business.

Knowledge Gained:

My print shop experience helped me understand what customers want since I worked with various merchandise designs.
